The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Site Engineer to join our Utilities division in regional NSW to deliver a high-quality water infrastructure project. This position offers the opportunity to apply sound engineering knowledge in a hands-on environment while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing site team.
Working closely with the Project Manager, you will coordinate and oversee on-site engineering activities including planning, scheduling, procurement, quality assurance, inspections, and technical delivery. You’ll be at the center of project execution — ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role offers strong exposure across all stages of project delivery, providing an excellent platform to further develop your technical capability, leadership skills, and long-term career in project management.
FIFO role from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane on a 10:4 roster
The project itself delivers major upgrades to water pump station infrastructure at Nyngan and Hermidale. Works include construction of new pump stations, balance tanks, surge vessels, and switchrooms, installation of new high-capacity pumps and pipework, high-voltage power upgrades, demolition of outdated facilities, and full mechanical and electrical fit-out and commissioning. The project modernises and strengthens the reliability of the regional water supply network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing construction activities ensuring compliance with design and WNSWWater standards and specifications.
- Procurement and co-ordination of materials, plant and equipment including raising purchase requisitions and ensuring materials delivered to site are correct, in good condition and in a timely manner so as to not cause delays to the construction program.
- Performing site inspections and observations with respect to health, safety and environmental KPIs.
- Assisting project engineers with development of site documentation including ITPs, SWMSs, JSEAs and Construction Execution Methodologies.
- Undertaking quality control inspections and ITP Witness and Hold Point inspections.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Tertiary qualification in civil/mechanical or electrical engineering
- Experience delivering water infrastructure projects will be highly regarded
- 1-2yrs experience in a similar role
- Sound working knowledge of HSEQ requirements and implementation of same
- Strong and clear communication skills with proven ability to engage others
- Willingness / ability to work in remote locations as may be required
