The Role
SRG Global is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Training Coordinator to oversee training and competency across our Mining Services division
This is a key leadership role within HSEQT, supporting both Drill & Blast and Geotechnical business units. You will work closely with operational leaders and the National HSEQT Manager – Mining, to ensure workforce capability frameworks are robust, compliant, and aligned to industry best practice across projects nationally
This role is suited to a senior drill and blast professional or experienced training specialist looking to influence training strategy while maintaining strong site engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the development and standardisation of training and competency frameworks across the Mining Services business units.
- Conduct and oversee Training Needs Analysis for Mining Services workforces.
- Drive consistency in training matrices, competency standards, and Verification of Competency processes.
- Oversee induction programs including reviewing and updating training materials and assessments.
- Provide advice to the National HSEQT Manager – Mining, for compliance with Australian mining and explosives legislation
- Conduct audits, governance of training systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implement and optimise digital training systems including Articulate and cloud-based learning management systems.
- Engage and influence operational leaders while acting as a subject matter expert in training and competency.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Extensive experience in surface mining with a strong Drill & Blast background.
- Proven experience in a senior training capability role within mining.
- Demonstrated experience developing and reviewing training materials and theory-based assessments.
- Strong capability in Training Needs Analysis across operational and professional roles.
- Deep understanding of drill and blast processes, critical controls, and Australian regulatory requirements.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
- Experience with cloud-based Learning Management Systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or demonstrated progress towards completion.
- Certificate III in Drilling Operations Surface Extraction (highly regarded).
- WA Shotfirer’s Licence highly (desirable).
- Current Driver’s Licence.
