The Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior HR Advisor with a keen eye for detail and a can-do attitude. Supporting the HR and IR Managers and working closely with the broader HR team, this role will be integral in providing support, assistance and advice to Managers across Australia on all matters pertaining to Human Resources and Industrial Relations.
This will involve identifying opportunities for strategic improvement, analysing business risk, implementing change and serving as a subject matter expert for all HR and Employment matters to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and support to management on effective HR cost management, including interpretation of ER legislation, individual contracts, remuneration & benefits queries, regional salary/rate reviews and application of remuneration policy.
- Work with senior management to develop effective structures and drive all associated actions.
- Manage employee relations issues and conduct investigations as required.
- Respond to all employee-related claims and disputes, including but not limited to, unfair dismissals and adverse actions which may include conciliations with the relevant commissions.
- Participate in Enterprise Agreement negotiations.
- Ensure consistency of ER/IR standards, approach and practice across all sites, ensuring good governance and risk mitigation is applied.
- Maintain employee records and associated HR systems.
- Assist the HR Leadership team with review of policies and implementation of HR initiatives and programs as required.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Experience within the Mining, Engineering, or Construction industry.
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in a similar role.
- Minimum Cert IV in HR, or a Bachelor's degree in a similar field (desirable).
- Demonstrated knowledge of current employment relations legislation.
- Exceptional administrative and organisational skills and ability to multi task.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Excellent computer and software skills; Word, Excel & Outlook.
