The Role
SRG Global is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to join our Port Melbourne team and play a key role in strengthening commercial capability across the business.
This is a hands-on role with genuine influence. Working closely with Project Managers and delivery teams, you'll take ownership of contractual and commercial matters across our Victorian and South Australian operations, while helping develop and upskill the wider project team.
You'll be involved across the post-award project lifecycle, managing contracts, variations, claims and commercial risks, while ensuring the team understands not just what needs to be done, but why it matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the commercial and contractual management of SRG Global Utilities projects across VIC and SA
- Manage head contract and subcontract administration, ensuring contractual obligations and notice requirements are met
- Take the lead on variations, claims, extensions of time and contractual issues
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities early and work with Project Managers to address them proactively
- Support the management and resolution of commercial issues, disputes and claims
- Work closely with subcontractors and head contractors to ensure contractual and commercial requirements are understood and managed
- Provide practical commercial guidance to Project Managers, Engineers and delivery teams
- Coach and develop Contracts Administrators and project team members, building stronger commercial capability across the business
- Help teams understand the commercial implications of their decisions and actions
- Maintain strong attention to detail across contract administration, notices, registers and contractual compliance
- Contribute to procurement and pre-contract activities when required
- Support continuous improvement in commercial and contract management practices across the Utilities business
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Business or Law (desirable)
- 3–5 years’ experience in a Contracts Administration or commercial role within the utilities, construction, engineering or infrastructure sectors
- Strong experience managing head contracts and subcontracts, including variations, claims, EOTs and contractual notices
- Sound understanding of contractual compliance, commercial risk and project financials
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with Project Managers and delivery teams
- A proactive and hands-on approach, with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and address issues early
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and support junior team members and build commercial capability within a project team
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
