The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our Queensland team, supporting the successful delivery of infrastructure projects across a growing portfolio of works. Working within the Project Controls team and alongside experienced commercial and delivery professionals, this role will provide exposure across project cost management, forecasting, claims, variations, subcontractor administration, reporting, and commercial governance. Experience within water or broader infrastructure projects will be highly regarded, however we are also open to candidates looking to further develop their commercial career within a supportive and hands-on environment.
This role will suit someone eager to build their capability within a fast-paced contracting environment, with strong attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation, management, and monitoring of project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting.
- Track project performance against budget and support the identification of cost variances and corrective actions.
- Prepare and assess variations, progress claims, and contractual entitlements in line with project requirements.
- Support the preparation and submission of accurate client payment claims and commercial documentation.
- Review subcontractor claims, variations, and payment applications against contractual obligations.
- Maintain accurate project, commercial, and financial records across internal systems and client portals.
- Assist with monthly CVR reporting, forecasting, margin analysis, and commercial performance reporting.
- Analyse project and financial data to identify risks, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities.
- Support project teams with commercial administration, project controls, and risk management activities.
- Ensure compliance with company governance, contractual requirements, and HSEQ policies and procedures.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
- 1-2 years industry experience, preferably in water infrastructure projects.
- Exposure to variations, claims, contract administration, and cost reporting processes.
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent attention to detail and analytical capability.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency across Excel and financial reporting tools.
