About the Role
SRG Global is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our Asset Maintenance Services division. This vital role supports the success of our capital projects by delivering accurate and competitive tenders across electrical, mechanical and structural scoops.
Reporting to the Manager – Northwest Projects you will play a key role in estimating and bid development, collaborating with engineers, suppliers and clients to ensure robust and commercially sound project submissions. This is a full-time position offering a dynamic work environment with opportunities to influence project outcomes and support order book growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications to accurately determine project scope.
- Develop first-principles estimates for SMP scopes, including labour, materials, equipment and indirect costs.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and evaluate commercial offerings.
- Conduct site visits to assess work fronts and confirm constructability and execution planning.
- Lead internal presentations of bids for approval, including full scope breakdowns and commercial rationale.
- Prepare and maintain detailed estimating spreadsheets, cost databases, and submission documents.
- Support project handover by briefing delivery teams on scope, methodology, and budget assumptions.
- Identify and promote innovation, efficiencies and value-add opportunities throughout the tender process.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, market rates and best practices to enhance estimate accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with SRG Global’s tendering procedures and quality standards.
About You
You will bring proven experience in SMP estimating and a strong understanding of construction principles in industrial or maintenance settings.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience estimating structural, mechanical and piping scopes.
- Strong first-principles estimating knowledge with ability to conduct detailed take-offs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, procurement and delivery teams.
- High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and commercial acumen.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimation software tools.
- Willingness to travel to site as required.
Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Structural Engineering or similar (Desirable)
- Trade background or hands-on construction experience.
- Exposure to shutdown or asset maintenance environments.
