The Role

 

SRG Global is seeking an Operational Technology (OT) Field Specialist to join our Mining Services Division, based from our Subiaco Head Office.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the deployment, support and continuous improvement of SRG Global's digital technologies across our national drilling, blasting and geotechnical operations. Working closely with operational teams, customers, OEMs and engineering specialists, you'll help maximise the value of our digital platforms, high precision GPS systems and operational technologies to improve safety, productivity and operational performance.

 

This is a field-focused position requiring regular travel to project sites throughout Australia, with approximately 50% of your time spent on site and 50% based from our Subiaco Head Office. You'll work directly alongside operational personnel, providing technical support, configuring and maintaining digital technologies, delivering training, troubleshooting technical issues and helping ensure our systems are being effectively utilised across the business.

 Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Configure, deploy and support high precision GPS systems across SRG Global's national drill rig fleet.
  • Support the deployment, configuration and ongoing optimisation of Orbix and associated digital technologies across operational projects.
  • Conduct functional testing, validation and field verification of new and enhanced Orbix software features.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for digital systems, GPS technologies, communications infrastructure and field hardware.
  • Deliver training and ongoing support to operational personnel and customers to maximise system adoption and utilisation.
  • Conduct audits of Orbix, mobile applications, GPS systems and associated digital platforms to ensure compliance with company standards and operational best practice.
  • Manage ACMA radio communications licensing and associated compliance requirements.
  • Engage with operational teams and customers to identify opportunities for continuous improvement across SRG Global Mining’s digital technology platforms.

 

The successful applicant will ideally have:

 

  • Demonstrated experience with High Precision GPS (HPGPS), machine guidance or positioning systems within mining, civil or related industries.
  • Previous experience within the drilling, blasting, explosives or mining industries.
  • Qualifications in Surveying, Mining Engineering, Geospatial Sciences, Information Technology or a related discipline (desirable).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Advanced computer literacy including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.

 

 

  • Well-developed troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • A passion for technology and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • A willingness to travel regularly to operational sites throughout Australia.
