- Partner with Operations to investigate cost overruns, underspends and project performance, helping identify the drivers behind financial results
- Support Cost to Completion forecasting across projects and monitor financial performance against approved budgets
- Coordinate and support the annual budgeting and forecasting process across the business units
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support operational and commercial decision-making, including analysis of large-scale, lump-sum project work
- Support appropriate revenue recognition and financial reporting across project-based contracts
- Prepare and lodge relevant statutory and compliance reporting, including BAS, IAS, PAYG, TPAR and ABS requirements
- Manage key financial controls including balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations and fixed asset accounting
- Manage the setup and closure of projects within Microsoft Dynamics 365, ensuring financial data integrity and adherence to established processes
- Work collaboratively with Corporate Finance, Operations and Systems teams to resolve financial and system-related issues
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and systems, particularly as the business continues to embed its new D365 ERP platform
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- CA/CPA qualification with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
- 5 years’ + accounting experience, ideally including 2–3 years in a Management Accountant or similar role
- Strong experience across month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial reporting
- Experience within a project-based environment, ideally construction, engineering, infrastructure or a similar industry, with an understanding of project profitability and cost reporting
