Inspector/NDT

Reporting to the Operations Manager, your role as an AICIP / API Inspector and NDT Technician forms part of our Asset Care inspection team supporting mining and industrial operations throughout the Bowen Basin. This position combines statutory and in-service inspection capability with hands-on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities, providing critical asset integrity services to our key clients.

 

Travel to client sites throughout the Bowen Basin will be required as part of this role.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-service inspections of pressure equipment, pressure piping, storage tanks and associated plant in accordance with applicable legislation, codes, standards and client requirements.
  • Perform Non-Destructive Testing activities including Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT/MPI) and assess, interpret and evaluate results to determine asset condition and integrity.
  • Prepare inspection scopes, review equipment history and identify inspection and testing requirements to support maintenance, shutdown and asset integrity programs.
  • Prepare accurate inspection reports, NDT reports and technical recommendations, clearly documenting inspection results, asset condition and any remedial or corrective actions.
  • Liaise with clients, site personnel and stakeholders to communicate inspection findings and technical recommendations.
  • Support shutdowns, projects and maintenance activities across mining and industrial operations throughout the Bowen Basin.
  • Promote the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental performance.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current AICIP Inspector Certification or API 510 Certification.  
  • ISO 9712 Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing (UT) certification.
  • ISO 9712 Level 2 Magnetic Particle Testing (MT/MPI) certification.
  • Experience conducting in-service inspections of pressure vessels, pressure piping, storage tanks and associated plant.
  • Experience performing, interpreting and reporting UT and MT inspection results.
  • Experience within mining, resources, heavy industrial or process plant environments.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and electronic inspection reporting systems.
  • Strong technical report writing, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
