  • Build strong relationships and positively influence HSE performance across the site.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of HSE systems, plans and processes.
  • Identify hazards, assess risks and support effective risk control measures.
  • Review and maintain risk registers and team-based risk assessments.
  • Conduct site-based HSE inspections and investigations.
  • Support incident reporting, investigation and analysis.
  • Prepare HSE reports, alerts and other project documentation.
  • Communicate HSE requirements and key issues through toolbox meetings and site forums.
  • Coach, train, educate and guide employees and project teams on HSE requirements.
  • Support internal and external audit activities and action close-out.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and key project stakeholders on HSE matters.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure legislative and project requirements are understood and followed.

About You

We are looking for an experienced HSE professional who is confident working in a hands-on civil construction environment and can build strong relationships across all levels of a project.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • 5+ years' experience in HSE/WHS, preferably within civil construction or infrastructure.
  • Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and practical risk management.
  • Experience working on construction projects in a site-based HSE role.
  • Experience with risk assessments, SWMS/JSEAs, incident management and HSE systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coach, engage and influence others.
  • A proactive approach and the confidence to identify issues and take appropriate action.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to the wider project team.
  • A practical and collaborative approach to HSE.
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS/OH&S).
