HR Advisor

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Advisor with a keen eye for detail and a can-do attitude. Supporting the HR and IR Managers and working closely with the broader HR team, this role will be integral in providing support, assistance and advice to Managers across Australia on all matters pertaining to Human Resources and Industrial Relations.

This will involve identifying opportunities for strategic improvement, analysing business risk, implementing change and serving as a subject matter expert for all HR and Employment matters to the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support leaders with routine employee relations matters, including performance management, conduct issues, fitness for work issues, grievances, and absence management.
  • Coach supervisors and site leaders on basic people management practices and policy application.
  • Escalate complex ER/IR matters to Senior HR team members as required.
  • Assist with interpretation and application of Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and employment contracts.
  • Assist with Enterprise Agreement negotiations and collating the associated documentation to submit to Fair Work. Assist with Employee Agreement negotiations and collating the associated documentation to submit to Fair Work.
  • Support compliance with Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, WHS legislation, and industrial instruments.
  • Manage project rates and support payroll in the setting and execution of projects including award set up, interpretation and annual increases.
  • Participate in investigations, meetings, and documentation related to ER matters.
  • Ensure compliant application and accuracy of employment documentation, contracts and variations throughout the employee lifecycle, in accordance with the HR Authority Matrix.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Experience within the Mining, Engineering, or Construction industry.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a similar role.
  • Minimum Cert IV in HR, or a Bachelor's degree in a similar field (desirable).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current employment relations legislation.
  • Exceptional administrative and organisational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent computer and software skills; Word, Excel & Outlook.
