The Role

SRG Global is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join our Asset Remediation team and play a key role in the delivery of our San Remo Rehabilitation Project in Victoria. Acting as the Environmental Site Representative (ESR), you will take ownership of environmental compliance and performance across the project, working closely with the project team, client, contractors and relevant authorities to ensure environmental requirements are met throughout construction. This role also provides an opportunity to broaden your safety capability and further develop your safety skills through close involvement with the wider project team.

 

This is a hands-on site-based role responsible for implementing and maintaining the project’s Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and supporting environmental plans, permits of work with DEECA, Parks Victoria and Victorian Fisheries Authority as well as overseeing erosion and sediment controls, inspections, audits, reporting and environmental risk management. You will provide practical environmental advice to the project team and help foster a strong culture of environmental awareness and compliance across site.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain the project CEMP and supporting environmental plans (Site Environmental Plans)
  • Ensure compliance with statutory approvals, permits, licences and project requirements
  • Conduct regular environmental inspections, audits and compliance monitoring
  • Identify environmental risks and implement practical corrective actions
  • Oversee erosion and sediment control measures across the site
  • Maintain environmental registers, documentation and reporting requirements
  • Liaise with the client, authorities and project stakeholders on environmental matters
  • Prepare monthly environmental performance and compliance reports, track project KPI’s
  • Develop and deliver environmental inductions, toolbox talks and awareness material
  • Provide environmental guidance and support to the wider project team
  • Work closely with the Safety Manager and project teams to broaden your safety knowledge and develop your capability across wider HSEQ practices
  • Contribute to the identification, assessment and management of health and safety risks across the project

 

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
  • Previous environmental management experience within construction, civil infrastructure or road projects
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation, approvals and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing CEMPs, environmental plans, erosion and sediment controls and environmental audits
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills, with a high attention to detail
  • Current Class C Driver Licence and strong proficiency across Microsoft Office
