The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Customer Relations Advisor to provide support to a growing number of exciting civil construction projects across Queensland.
This role will suit someone who doesn’t mind putting on boots and high vis and getting involved at all stages of civil construction – from planning upcoming work, to being actively present across our sites working with our local communities, our crews and project teams.
Based in our Fortitude Valley or Gympie Office, you’ll join a high-performing national team and work closely with Project Managers to support and provide community engagement advice to site-based project teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and lead community and stakeholder engagement activities across a diverse range of infrastructure projects.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with impacted communities, stakeholders and internal project teams.
- Respond to community enquiries and complaints, escalating sensitive or complex matters.
- Support the preparation and implementation of Community and Stakeholder Engagement Plans and related documentation.
- Prepare written communications, notifications, reports, and stakeholder correspondence.
- Coordinate community engagement activities and events, including logistics and materials.
- Contribute to lessons learnt and continuous improvement initiatives.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Qualification in Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years’ relevant experience in community relations, community engagement, communications, or a related role.
- Experience supporting community engagement activities in construction, infrastructure, utilities or regulated environments (desirable).
- Well-developed communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in complaints and community enquiries handling.
- Adaptable and able to manage competing priorities in a project environment.
- Positive work approach with a willingness to learn, contribute proactively, collaborate as a team player, and maintain motivation in dynamic project settings.
- A willingness to travel throughout Queensland and occasionally work outside of business hours to meet project and stakeholder requirements.
